Vietnam Tourist Visa on Arrival – Airport Stamping and Payment Guide

After 01 business days as from the date of applying for Vietnam Tourist Visa on Arrival, you will receive an Approval Letter via registered email address. With the Approval Letter you will be allowed to boarding without a Vietnam Visa as such visa will be granted when the flight arrive to the International Airport at Ho Chi Minh City, Ha Noi City, or Da Nang City. The Visa stamping process at the international airport is simple and straight forward, for your information, VoaVietnam.net would like to provide guide for stamping and payment at the airport as follow:

At Ho Chi Minh City (Tan Son Nhat International Airport):

– Follow the Landing Visa (i.e. Visa On Arrival) signal to the left, you will find the VOA window is situated at the far end;
– At the VOA windows, you should hand over your passport, one completed copy of the Entry and Exit form, the entire letter of approval and one passport size photo;
– Find a seat, sit down and wait for your name to be called;

– When your Vietnam tourist visa is ready, your name will be called;
– You then pay the processing visa fee – US$25 for single entry (1 or 3 month); US $50 for multiple entry (1 or 3 month);
– Please check the newly issued visa for any errors while still at the window;
– You then go to the immigration control posts to be processed in the normal way.

Note: Vietnamese Dong or US Dollars are the preferred currencies. The notes should be in good condition (no marks, nicks or tears) but it is not necessary for them to be brand new. At HCMC, people have also had Australian Dollars, GB Pounds and Euros accepted as payment instead of US Dollars but no change is given for currencies other than US Dollars or Dong. However, to avoid payment problems, US Dollars are preferable as there have been occasional reports of other currencies not being accepted. 

At Hanoi (Noi Bai International Airport):

– The VOA counter/windows is situated opposite the immigration desks;
– Hand your passport and documents in at THE RIGHT HAND SIDE of the counter/windows;
– Then proceed to the left hand side and wait for your name to be called while they process it;
– When your visa is ready, your name will be called;
– You then pay the processing visa fee – US$25 for single entry (1 or 3 month); US $50 for multiple entry (1 or 3 month);
– Please check the newly issued visa for any errors while still at the window;
– You then proceed to the immigration control to be processed in the normal way.

Note: If it is busy, keep your eyes and ears open as they will call out your name or hold up your passport / photo. If you are processing multiple passports, you will receive 1 pink receipt for all, the visas will already be in the passports.

At Da Nang International Airport:

– The VOA counter/window that is on the left hand side and is clearly visible.
– At the VOA windows, you should hand over your passport, one completed copy of the Entry and Exit form, the entire letter of approval and one passport size photo;
– Wait a few minutes for your name to be called, make payment of US$25 for single entry (1 or 3 month) or US $50 for multiple entry (1 or 3 month);

– Receive your passport with newly issued visa then proceed onwards to immigration control to be processed in the normal way.

Note: The process is reasonably quick (approximately 15 minutes with all necessary paperwork completed before landing), but do bear in mind there is no guarantee it will be always be the same. Immigration Control can be slow, please be patient for that.
